I have just returned from M and S in Southgate and noticed that customers are no longer required to wear masks, nor are staff, and that the notices recommending the wearing of masks have been taken away. Although I disagree with this move, I understand that if a store receives a ruling from head office that wearing face masks is no longer to be mandatory, they are more or less obliged to follow it. However, the decision to remove the notices seems to be against M and S's own ruling , as it states on their website that "while face coverings are now a matter of personal choice.....signage will remain in our shops to highlight the government recommendation to wear them,"
