I needed some off the counter herbal tablets only to be questioned as to whether I was taking any other medication. I’m not on any medication and if I needed to be I would visit my GP. I felt uncomfortable as there was another person waiting and I just wanted to purchase the tablets. I acknowledged the information but the assistant continued to offer negative comments and suggested the GP may offer counselling. I found the experience very belittling and felt uncomfortable about purchasing so decided to go to another shop. My husband witnessed this and found it most unusual. We went to Greenock where the herbal tablets are displayed along with other health products and I was able to take them from the shelf without a lecture from a trainee pharmacist.
