I am absolutely shocked and disappointed at the way the staff or so called manager treated my son, when he wanted to return a phone that he had paid £135.00 in the store on 30/06/16.
My son who is 13 purchased the phone out of his birthday money, but when he arrived home a member of the family had brought him a new phone as a surprise birthday gift.
The following day my son and his father tried to return the phone but to our shock he was only offered £80.00, the staff/ so called manager said the seal on the box had been opened, well when a 13 year old has a new phone they can't wait to open a box/phone. It does state on the box that there is a 28 day return on any goods if the seal is intact what it does not state is that if the seal is broken you will lose£50.00 in the space of 1 day.
We was very angry with this decision I spoke with my son who may I add has learning difficulties and he said he would lose the £55.00 and take the £80.00 but when we told the manager our decision he said he was unable to help us at that time as it was 17.15 and they close at 17.30, if the shop is open until 17.30 then surely we should of been served no matter what, they then said to sell it back to them we had to provide a driving licence well when they sold the phone to my 13 year old son they didn't ask for a driving licence and surely the manager is not that stupid to realise that a 13 year old would have a licence.
I feel they have exploited my 13 year old son who has learning difficulties, I will not use that shop again I'm very discusted with the way we have been treated, may I suggest sending all staff on a customer services course.
I have also contacted the retail ombudsman and forwarded my complaint.
