As usual I went to the Washington store at 8.00. am. At 8.30,
with a full trolley I looked for a till to pay. At 8.30 on Tuesday mornings there is very rarely more than one belt checkout in use but this morning there was none!!! I had to use one of the tiny self service checkouts with dozens of other customers which is hardly satisfactory since it is impossible to put a trolley full of goods on the tiny shelf beside the till without them sliding onto the floor!! Other customers were having the same problem!
I felt very sorry for the young assistant trying to cope with all those tills on her own in such circumstances!
After leaving the store, I went down to Asda! There, 4 of the normal tills were manned, and there were 6 assistants monitoring the self service basket tills and the self service Trolley tills!
You are losing ground Sainsbury’s!!
