Visited the store Tuesday evening in run up to Christmas - I have never seen so many people in a shop since I ever recall. I understand we have no restrictions right now but M&S far too many people in a small space you couldn’t even walk down the aisles to see the food. I had to leave as it didn’t feel covid safe. Will try again tomorrow. Not sure what the solution is but that was crazy. I shop here often never seen it this busy before.
My wife and I visited the Wolstanton store today and were not impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant. We sat at a table immediately the other side of the service area and noticed all the shelves on the room divider were covered in dust. Is it asking too much to keep a clean restarant?
Must just defend the comment on staff rudeness. They are the friendliest, most polite staff I've met in any shop in the area. They even say Hi to you when you walk through the door.
In reply to some comments regarding stock position, a computer centrally telling you its in is all well and good, but you really need to be put through to the relevant depts to tell you if it's ACTUALLY in. Computers can sometimes be wrong and human error can mean stock is not actually in.
I work in retail and can tell you from experience that it's best for someone to physically see it, then on the shelf. Then the staff can reserve the item for you! It's not rocket science. It just makes much more sense.
The store is fantastic and has great flow.
As for the changing rooms; would you like a man to take his daughter into a ladies/lingerie fitting room, whilst YOU as a woman, are trying on intimate items??? So why would you want to take your daughter into a fitting room that accommodates men and them trying on suits etc?!
Get down to Wolstanton. Great food, great clothes and great homeware! Some people will never be happy...
Poor service. Staff rude and unhelpful. Had to walk half way round the store for my daughter to try something on. The changing rooms upstairs are for men only even though it doesn't state that. A very disappointing visit. No wonder Marks and Spencer are struggling. Some staff training may help!!!!

Selection of children's clothes is very limited especially for such a large shop
